Camera analytics and dedicated counting sensors each have trade-offs. Existing cameras may reduce installation work, but view angle, lighting, occlusion, privacy requirements, and video quality can affect an estimate.
Dedicated sensors may offer a more controlled measurement for a particular area, while introducing their own siting, maintenance, power, and integration requirements.
Rather than assuming a device will be accurate in every condition, test it in the actual zone and document its limitations.
